Regarding the whole, "why doesn't he just donate his money " thing. I'm curious,if he did, wouldn't people just say that's just showing that capitalism and charitable work are what's needed. Him doing that wouldn't really be a slight against capitalism

This right here. That gives you no time to actually live your life, it's a cycle that ends in an early death.

I mean, I'd agree. But that's my whole point. Just saying you work 2 jobs doesn't tell me you work 80 hours between both jobs. In fact, it's not what I would assume due to the insane difficulty involved in that

I can see why some might see this topic as me trying to demean hourly workers, but it's really not. It applies to salary workers as well. If you work 40 at a job, then a second job for 5 hours, my point still stands.

Umbreon posted...
It irks me that we live in a country where needing to work 2-3 jobs just to get by is somehow acceptable.

That upsetting me depends on what someone means by 2 jobs.
Like, is there an issue where employees aren't able to provide workers a stable x hours at their job? That's helpful detail. Or are you saying they people shouldn't have to work 80 hours a week in those 2 jobs to survive?
But just saying 2 jobs doesn't give enough info.

Easiest way would be working during the week, and a second job on weekends.

Like I said in post 5, it's more about the virtue signalling involved in the comment. I don't think people should even have to hype up how much they work at their job, salaried or not.

Part of the issue is the virtue signalling they try to do by praising how much they work. But, like, telling me you work 2 jobs doesn't really tell me much unless you also tell me how many hours your working between the two

If someone says they work 3 jobs. What irks me about those statements is when they don't follow up with how many hours they're working combined. At times it's like they're trying to make themselves look good in some way, but just saying you work multiple jobs doesn't tell the whole story.*

Like, are you working 3 jobs for 80+ hour weeks combined? Or are you working 3 jobs for 30 hour weeks combined.

* I will say that there's obvious logistical difficulties in working multiple jobs that go outside of hours worked. For example, working 3 jobs for 30 hours total is potentially more time consuming that working 1 job for 30 hours, mainly because of the commute between the jobs and the scheduling of hours

There's not really that many choices for cookware, All-Clad is the best, if you can't afford it then Anolon and Calphalon are great. I prefer Anolon since it tends to have a little more heft to it, but the anodized aluminum core is the same for both brands. If I could afford All-Clad I'd buy it in a second.

For non stick skillets they all pretty much suck in regards to the coating. Suck in the sense that it won't last long. So unless you want to go the cast iron route, just buy cheap and replace it when you need to.

For everything else, ya. Tri-ply Stainless steel and buy the best you can afford.

I've tried one of those restoration kits but it didn't work at all. Is there a point where the headlights can be so bad that those kits don't work and you just have to buy a while new headlight assembly?
